Universal Constructs
Universal constructs are phenomena that exist with or without human permission, awareness, or participation. They were not invented — they were discovered. The Higgs field existed before the physicist who named it. Gravity operated before Newton observed it. The double-slit experiment revealed a principle that was true long before the laboratory was built. These are the rules the universe runs on — the architecture of reality at its deepest observable level — that no human authority can override, suspend, or renegotiate. They are evidence of design operating at every scale simultaneously. The student encounters them not as abstract science but as confirmation: nothing about this universe is random. These laws were written before any man arrived to read them.
The Category Note
The name universal constructs is, on careful reading, slightly misleading.
In the cluster's vocabulary, mental constructs and social constructs are contingent. They exist because human cognition or human cultural agreement has produced them, and they would not exist if the cognition or the agreement were not there. Universal constructs are not contingent in that sense. They operate as features of the creation itself, established by the Creator's act, running regardless of whether any human creature observes them. The Physical Order

The canonical Christian reading affirms the legitimate intuition the metaphor names — the visible order is downstream of an intentional Author, not autonomous substance. It then offers the Christian alternative: the doctrine of creation, in which the visible material order is the good work of the Creator who pronounced it very good and who entered it himself in the Incarnation. It refuses the Gnostic substitution the Matrix metaphor sometimes drifts into — the framework that treats the visible material order as prison rather than as good creation, and that locates salvation in escape rather than in redemption.

Time
Time sits on the contested boundary between universal and mental construct.
The canonical Christian tradition — Augustine's Confessions Book XI, Boethius, Aquinas, contemporary work — holds that time is a feature of the creation itself, established by the Creator who exists outside it. The Creator's eternity is not endless time. It is the substantial now in which all temporal moments are simultaneously present to the divine apprehension.
The Greek chronos / kairos distinction names two registers a man experiences time in. Chronos is the linear, quantitative time by which a ` life is conducted in sequence. Kairos is the qualitative, significant moment in which something decisive occurs. The canon holds both registers without collapsing them.
The contemporary popular time is a construct of the mind register sometimes runs as a substitute for the canonical reading — treating time as unreal, as something the man can transcend through cognitive operations or altered states. The canonical reading refuses the substitution. The man's temporal perspective is real. The Creator's eternal perspective is real. Both stand. Neither is collapsed into the other.
